Our Story
I’m a writer, director, and father, driven by a deep passion for telling stories about Black fatherhood. A few years ago, I wrote a TV pilot that made the rounds in Hollywood. The script received praise from ABC Studios and other major production companies. But the feedback was clear: “We don’t think the market is ready for a male-centered Black TV show about fathers.”
Rather than let that stop me, I decided to independently produce the pilot. Along the way, I realized this wasn’t just about creating a show—it was about fostering a movement. That’s how the Daddy Mode community was born: a space where fathers can see themselves not as stereotypes, but as whole men balancing culture, family, and their own dreams.
Our Vision
At Daddy Mode, we’re committed to celebrating the complexities, joys, and challenges of modern fatherhood. Here’s how we do it:
Empowerment Through Resources: We create actionable toolkits that equip fathers with practical strategies for personal growth, resilience, and connection.
Community Engagement: Through live events, workshops, and collaborative storytelling projects, such as Everyday King: A Fatherhood Series, we provide spaces for fathers to connect, reflect, and grow.
Authentic Storytelling: From photojournalism exhibitions to the production of our independent TV series Daddy Mode, we showcase real, unfiltered fatherhood experiences that resonate and inspire.
Our mission is simple: to spotlight authentic stories of Black fathers while fostering a supportive and inclusive community for all fathers. Together, we’re building a movement that uplifts fathers, supports representation, and empowers storytelling.
